Missouri defensive assistant Kevin Peoples was named one of 15 semifinalists on Monday for the Broyles Award, which is given to the nation’s top assistant coach. Peoples, a native of Butte, Mont., worked three seasons at Arkansas for Bobby Petrino and John L. Smith between 2010-12. He served as director of high school relations his first season then moved into an on-field role as defensive line coach the next two years. Peoples, a four-year linebacker starter at Carroll College in Helena, Mont., is the only one of the 15 semifinalists who is not a coordinator.
